How You Can Help

We rely on the much needed help that people like YOU can provide.  Here are just a few of the ways that you can help us to help animals.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you think you could help us in any way!

Thank you!!

Foster Homes

We always need short term FOSTER HOMES, especially in the West Midlands and Isle of Wight areas.  Foster homes help animals at their time of greatest need.  The Charity has a policy of non-destruction but on occasions owners have had their animals (this includes puppies) put to sleep - rather than wait for a foster home to become vacant.

Fostering saves lives!

Friends of the Animals provides everything you need and pays all the bills.

Voluntary Drivers

We are especially short of daytime drivers in the Midlands.  The Isle of Wight branch currently has 43 drivers, but would appreciate more, especially in Newport and Freshwater.

Could YOU occasionally transport animals to and from vets, foster homes etc., take volunteers to events, and collect items for sale?

A mileage allowance is payable.

Home Checkers

We try hard to match the right animal to the right home, it is not a case of first come first served.  We require HOME CHECKERS (especially in the West Midlands) to visit potential new owners by appointment.

A mileage allowance is payable.

Collectors

It is a sad fact that without funds no rescues could take place and all four of our branches would greatly appreciate your help at street or store collections.  It is entirely up to you how long you stay - all help is appreciated!!

We have collections booked at the following stores.  We would love to have your help, if you think you could join us, please contact the relevant branch.

Little Pink Box

If you would be willing to have one of our little pink boxes in which to save your spare change, please call us and we will forward one with pleasure - your local office phone number can be found on the contact page.

Remember... we are often the animal's very last chance of life!

Events

Car Boots, Coffee Mornings, Bring & Buy Sales, Sponsored Walks / Swims etc... Our recent Car Boot raised £200 for the charity!

The Charity uses the money raised from this sort of event solely on direct animal welfare.

Foreign Currency

Have you recently been on holiday, do you know anybody who has?

Hidden away in the back of drawers, suitcases, and cupboards are probably thousands upon thousands of pounds that will never been used, this is leftover currency from holidays possibly taken years ago - we can use this money to fund lifesaving operations.  Don't let it go to waste no matter how little; it all counts!

If you have foreign currency, or know somebody who has please contact us - your gift could make all the difference to the life of an animal!

All proceeds to be used solely for veterinary treatment - our last appeal raised £1,236!

Standing Orders

These enable us to plan ahead.

Please click HERE to download a Standing Order form.  Please note that if you pay tax at either the standard or higher rate the Charity can claim back the tax you have paid (at no extra cost to you) by simply completing the attached Gift Aid Form.  This has the effect of INCREASING your gift by almost 30%.

Remember to safeguard your animals should you pre-decease them

Please contact us for an updated booklet on making a willMaking a Will may be one of the most important things you will ever do and it could literally save your animal's life.  It is a sad fact that every year, thousands of animals are put to sleep, simply because they outlive their owner and no proper provision had been made for them.

Friends of the Animals uses Foster Homes, has a policy of non-destruction and will ensure that your pet/s are cared for until the end of their natural lives.  Each is guaranteed a responsible home, where they will be a loved and wanted pet. All animals will be regularly checked upon.

Please CONTACT US for a copy of our booklet on making a will.
