The Charity began in March 1990. We are pleased to work under the auspices of the Charity Commission and would commend to all our friends and helpers the suggestion that unless a group of people ARE prepared to Register and work within the legal framework of being a "Charity" they should be treated with a great deal of caution, care and concern.

Taken on our 20th Birthday, the Bearwood team are joined by four of the Charity's five Trustees, Madeliene, Margaret, John and David.

We work on the principle of making prompt and immediate decisions for the benefit of the animals that rely upon and need us. The Charity is managed by a dedicated team of five volunteers but they, the Trustees, delegate day to day decisions to a team of people that are empowered to make life saving and positive decisions for the animals. We ACT, we don't chat.

The Charity is constituted to help animals throughout England and Wales. We believe VERY strongly in "prevention rather than cure" and to that end a very large amount of our time and resources goes into supporting and funding subsidised spaying and neutering - not just for cats and dogs but rabbits and ferrets etc

To obtain your FREE copy of our latest Newsletter please contact ANY branch of the Charity.

The link below is to a secure site that will enable you to donate to the Charity by debit or credit card. It is controlled by "Charity Choice". ALL the donations received from this source will be used to help the animals at the Sanctuary. For your safety, you will be asked security questions when making a donation.

 THANKYOU

The Charity was also one of the earliest members of the Fund Raising Standards Board and we are proud to commit to their code of conduct in all matters relating to fund - raising. For more details about this code please click here.

We employ a full time Sanctuary worker in support of around 500 animals at Wolverton near Stratford on Avon.

The sanctuary itself is home to former farm animals and help is always needed to care for this LARGE number of animals. If you can help please contact either our Bearwood Branch (0121-420-4201) and talk to Jo or our Isle of Wight Branch (01983-522-511) and talk to Helen.

We will happily reimburse any reasonable travel expenses incurred.
