MICRO CHIPPING

Our Bearwood and Newport branches have qualified and insured micro chippers available "on site". The cost, to help ensure you never loose your much loved cat or dog is a mere £10-00p. Please call Becky on 0121-420-4201 (Bearwood) or Richard on 01983-522-511 (Newport) to make an appointment. Our Portsmouth branch can arrange cheap micro chipping through a local vet.

PET FOOD / ANIMAL FEED

The Charity would be delighted to hear from anyone who has any un-required pet food / animal feed or equipment (bedding, leads, collars etc. as we help a huge variety of animals we can use most things from Tins to sacks of feed and hay and straw. We can often collect as well. Please contact Jo on 0121-420-4201 or Richard on 01983-522-511 if you can help.

FOSTER HOMES:

We always need short term FOSTER HOMES, especially in the West Midlands, Portsmouth and Isle of Wight areas. Foster homes help animals at their time of greatest need. The Charity has a policy of non-destruction but on occasions owners have had their animals (this includes puppies) put to sleep - rather than wait for a foster home to become vacant.

Animals are usually fostered for about two weeks, unless the owner is in hospital, in which case it can be a month or so.
Fostering saves lives! Although voluntary, Friends of the Animals provides everything you need and pays all the bills. To see how successful our fostering policy has been, please click here.

Margaret (pictured) and her husband started fostering with the Charity MANY years ago. They have saved many lives and have made a REAL difference to the Charity.

We foster dogs, cats, rabbits, and can help in certain cases with other animals. Please click here to contact us for more details .

VOLUNTARY DRIVERS:

We are always short of daytime drivers. They can take animals (and their owners to the vets, pick up items destined for the Charity or transport other volunteers to and from events.

Could YOU occasionally do one of these jobs in the Midlands, Portsmouth area or the Isle of Wight? If so PLEASE contact Jo on 0121-420-4201 or Lacie / Helen on 01983-522-511.

A mileage allowance is payable:

Small cars up to 1600 cc - 35p per mile

Vehicles of 1600 cc and above  - 45p per mile

HOME CHECKERS:

We try very hard to match the right animals to the right home, it is not a case of first come first served. We require home checkers (especially in the West Midlands) to visit potential new owners by appointment.

A mileage allowance is payable (see above). Full training will be given and comprehensive notes provided.

ANIMAL BEHAVIOURAL WORK.

The Charity is fortunate to have a qualified animal behaviourist available to assist (mainly) with canine problems. as he is based in the South, he may be limited in his ability to many areas, but please give Richard a call  on 01983-522-511.
