Spay / Neuter

If you need help with the cost of spaying / neutering your animal, we'll be pleased to help. Please see below for instructions and prices, or contact your local branch if you would like more details.

Midlands:

The Charity continues to subsidise the price of Spaying and Neutering and is able to offer HUGE reductions in the cost of getting your pet treated.

Provided you can reach specified vets in the areas listed below, anyone can arrange, through the Charity, to get ANY SIZE bitch spayed for only £60-00p and ANY SIZE dog neutered for a mere £50-00p.

To take advantage of this fantastic offer, please initially contact the Bearwood office on 0121-420-4201 between 10-00am and 5-00pm Tuesday to Saturday or call in personally at 408 Bearwood Rd B66 4EX. The office staff will be pleased to explain the very simple procedure for taking advantage of this offer which is open to EVERYONE.

This offer really is open to ANYONE (yes EVERYONE) wanting or needing help who can reach our nominated vets in the following areas:- Cannock, Lichfield, Walsall, Edgbaston, Lye, Dudley, Oldbury, Brownhills, Cradley Heath, Northfield, Darlaston, Quinton and Sedgley

You may also send a cheque for the value of the spay / neuter made payable to "Friends of the Animals" along with a stamped addressed envelope. Please also include on a separate piece of paper your pet's name, details of the procedure i.e. spay / neuter, the name and location of your allocated vet (check with e Bearwood office for details of the vets we use) and most importantly your phone number so we can confirm receipt of your cheque and the arrangements we have made with you. Alternatively, you can now book and pay for the Spay / Neuter or any chosen treatment at the specified vets by card over the phone to our Bearwood office (0121-420-4201). Jo, Becky or Margaret will be happy to explain the procedure.

Isle of Wight:

Please send a cheque or Postal Order for the relevant amount (see "Contact" section for address) made payable to "Friends of the Animals". Please include a note telling us what it is for, and remember to include your name and phone number. Your phone number is important, as the same day that we receive this, we will call you with an "Order Number"... As soon as you have this, you can ring our vet and book in!

Why Spay / Neuter?

Spaying / Neutering your animals not only safeguards against unwanted pregnancies, but can also protect against certain diseases such as "Testicular Cancer" and "Pyometra" (a potentially fatal womb infection).

Many of the country's stray animals are the result of unwanted pregnancies. The "Stray Dog Survey 2009" shows that more than 107,000 stray and abandoned dogs were picked up by local authorities last year in  the UK. That is an increase of more than 11% on the previous year. Of those more than 9,000 were destroyed unnecessarily!

Friends of the Animals are working to reduce the number of stray and abandoned animals, and believe that prevention is the key.

We have spayed / neutered over 20,000 (mainly) dogs and cats - which has prevented thousands of unwanted animals from being born into a largely uncaring world.

If you are undecided, or would like some more information about the procedure and how it could benefit your animal, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please Note: For safety reasons you will be asked security questions.
