JUNE 2011

This lovely Golden Lab is BONNIE. Unfortunately she requires ONE specialist tablet a month to control a heart problem.
However the cost of that tablet was becoming prohibitive but, after a few phone calls we have been able to source the tablet at half the original cost. Our aim is to help and now both Bonnie and her owner can benefit from a worry removed.

Charity Founder Helen Sinclair attended the unveiling of a plaque by the BRITISH COMEDY SOCIETY in memory of Carry on Star, great comedian and gentleman JACK DOUGLAS at the HALL of FAME at PINEWOOD studios.
The Plaque was unveiled by JACK's good friend DES O'CONNOR. The sell out event was a tribute to a wonderful man and a great supporter of this Charity. At the Fund Raising events that followed the unveiling the proceeds were ALL donated to Friends of the Animals.
Thanks to Viv Russell, Jack's partner and John Gatenby & Gareth Hughes of the B.C.S. for their organisational work (Jack had also been a chairman of the Society). Finally thanks must go to the bidders at the Auction who, like Paul Stevens (pictured left) will enable the Charity to help a lot more animals.

APRIL 2011

Poor little SCAMP, (the 13-14yr old Lhaso Apso (pictured below) is in our carefollowing the sad demise of his owner. Unfortunately, SCAMP has got some very badteeth, his coat is (was) terribly matted and he's got warts on his neck. All in all, he's in a bit of a state. Yet, despite all of this, he is a friendly and lively little soul.
See above for how Friends of the Animals helped to turn Scamp around.

FEBRUARY 2011

This is DAVE. He is about three years old and we were asked to rehome him. When we arrived to pick him up he was wearing this lovely red coat and looked absolutely adorable. Unfortunately, reality struck the moment we started to take off his coat ....!
DAVE'S skin was in such a bad condition that he had been scratching himself to pieces and had (apparently) not been taken to the vets for TWO years. Instead of taking DAVE to a foster home, we took him straight to the vets where he was given antibiotics, steroids, skin cream special shampoo and had his nails clipped.
When the vet saw DAVE he said:- "If it had been anyone other than "Friends of the Animals" this dog would of been put to sleep"
