Fostering: (Life Saving)
If you cannot provide a permanent home for an animal, would you consider becoming a foster carer?
Animals come to us in all shapes and sizes, and for many different reasons; marriage breakdowns, loss of homes, sickness and loss of a loved one are but a few - we even had one dog whose owner was remanded in custody after taking on burglars caught in the act of robbing his home!
Foster homes help animals at their time of greatest need. The Charity has a policy of non-destruction but on occasions owners have had their animals (this includes puppies) put to sleep - rather than wait for a foster home to become vacant.
Animals are usually fostered for about two weeks, unless the owner is in hospital, in which case it can be a month or so.
Fostering saves lives! Although voluntary, Friends of the Animals provides everything you need and pays all the bills. In the first instance please contact Helen on 01983-616144 or Jo on 0121-420-4201.
