"This
is Bonnie; a
lovely old lady of 16
years. My family and
I had Bonnie as a puppy
and she very quickly
became a very big part of
our family. I have
always considered myself
to be a responsible pet
owner and took care to
visit the vets for her
vaccinations and regularly
had her wormed, we feed
her a good diet (including
her favourite of raw
carrot) and she has plenty
of exercise. As she is a housedog and never allowed to roam, we never thought to have her spayed... Last
year she became unwell and
we took her along to the
vets, she was kept in for
tests and put on a drip
overnight as it seemed she
had an infection.
When I left her that day I
was in floods of tears - I
thought I was going to
lose her! However after a sleepless night we were told we could pick her up the next afternoon. We took her home and continued with the antibiotics, but within a week she was back at the vets. They ran further tests and found she had a deep womb infection (Pyometra) this is often fatal a fatal condition, her only chance now was a hysterectomy. For two nights and two days we were praying for Bonnie to survive, and god bless her, the old girl made it. We treasure our dog and every moment with her is a gift. I BEG you if you have a dog be sure to have it Spayed or Neutered, don’t let it suffer because of your ignorance. If you are on a low income, help is available from organisations including Friends of the Animals!" SAVE
A LIFE AND SAVE YOURSELF
THE HEARTBREAK OF SEEING
YOUR PET SUFFER.
